It’s easy to forget how much we rely on plumbing in our day to day lives. Hot and cold running water for showering, cooking and washing up are often only really appreciated when something goes wrong. When something goes wrong it’s good to have a professional plumber that you can rely on.
Unfortunately, things occasionally do go wrong with plumbing and usually at the most inconvenient moment. When this happens you want an expert plumber you can trust to take care of your emergency as soon as possible. At Bond Plumbing we will come out at weekends or after hours if necessary, to assess, diagnose and fix your emergency.
An emergency plumbing repair is no less of a repair than a regular plumbing repair. We do not send out a plumber with the intention of doing a makeshift temporary repair. Our job is to fix the emergency in the same professional way we would for any regular non-emergency repair. If we don’t have a part that we need on hand, we’ll get it for you fast and make sure that your temporary repair will keep will get you through your emergency until we can come back and make a permanent repair. Our plumbers always carry with them the most common parts needed for most emergency situations.
Some of the common emergency situations we handle are:
Burst pipes. Burst pipes can cause a flooding situation very quickly if the water is not stopped. The first thing you should do if you have a burst water pipe is turn off the water if you can access the mains tap.
Blocked drains. Blocked drains can cause more than just an inconvenience. The smell and look can often seem worse than the actual problem so firstly, don’t panic! Some blockages can be fixed easily with a handheld rod. For more serious blockages we’ll come out and assess the blockage then unblock it using our electric eel or high-pressure water jet.
Storm water issues. This is especially common after heavy rains or storms. A good prevention tactic is to make sure any drainage areas are clear of debris.
Gas leaks. Gas leaks should be treated as an urgent problem. If you smell natural gas you should immediately try and shut off the gas supply and get in touch with a plumber who has expertise in detecting and repairing leaks.
Blocked toilet. A blocked toilet is a fairly common plumbing problem and can be caused by a number of situations. You should first determine whether you can unblock it yourself and if this is not the case as it often isn’t call us and we’ll send out a plumber You can call us 24 hours a day for emergency plumbing.
